I highly recommend Mads to others. The way that he breaks things down he makes it so simple that anyone can do it. He teaches things in a static position first, then goes into some fluid movement, then we pick up the pace and go into dynamic movement with it. Before you know it, you are doing something you had no idea you were capable of doing, and it feels really good! It’s like every move he teaches you you feel that much more accomplishment. I don’t feel like I would get nearly as far or have as much fun if I wasn’t using him.
Graduate school and faculty life made me much more sedentary than I would have liked. I developed back pain because of it. Mace training has really helped me reduce my pain and increase my strength. I highly recommend mace for anyone! It’s a practice that can do some really amazing things for your health, wellness, physical, and mental well-being.
Working with Coach Mads was transformative. I went from a semi-regular but not always enthusiastic exerciser to loving getting to swing the mace. I love it for both the physical and mental training it provides. Physically, it's demanding of strength and balance, and mentally requires focus, and can be meditative. I was immediately drawn in from the first time I saw it because it looked different and cool! I like that at the end of a steel mace workout, I can feel completely exhausted but also better than when I started. It's definitely improved my strength and my focus. I would absolutely recommend trying out Steel Mace Flow, and learning it from Coach Mads.
